About

Jade Dictionary

A free, offline Chinese-English dictionary and learning app built for anyone who wants to understand and remember Chinese — not just look it up.

Why we built it

Most Chinese dictionary apps make you choose between depth and convenience. Either you get a basic lookup tool, or a complex platform with a steep learning curve. Jade Dictionary is our answer to that gap.

We wanted an app that lets you find a word any way you can — type, draw, scan, or speak — and then actually helps you remember it through practice. Everything works offline, so you can use it on the subway, in class, or anywhere without an internet connection. Whether you're building HSK vocabulary from scratch or reading native Chinese text, Jade gives you the tools to look up, understand, and remember Mandarin characters — all for free.
